Anti-Trump Protests Continue Around the Nation
Anti–Trump protests have broken out in multiple major cities across the country from New York City to Portland Oregon.
Although some of these protests have been peaceful, there are reports of damaged buildings.
Someone was even shot in Portland.
In Minneapolis on Thursday, protesters blocked I–94 in both directions.
In Chicago early Saturday morning, hundreds of protesters marched through Millennium Park.
Some protesters say they signed online petitions to try and sway the vote of the Electoral College.
Protests also have broken out in Kansas City, Missouri.
“Our voices need to be heard because people think the election was fair but I don’t think it was,” says one protester in Kansas City.
“We’re actually having a meeting after this to discuss what we can do. We’re all going to get coffee or whoever wants to join, get a drink and discuss what the law is… electoral college etcetera. What can we do from here because you can only march so often,” says another protester in Kansas City.
There aren’t any major reports of violence coming from any of the protests besides the shooting in Portland.
Reports say the man shot in the Oregon protest is recovering and expected to survive.
Four people have been arrested in connection with that incident and police suggest the four have gang ties.
