Post-Election Healing Rally Held at Concordia
Moorhead Concordia students gathered in a peaceful protest against Donald Trump being elected president.
Students say what was originally scheduled to be a more outspoken protest ended up feeling like a community meeting.
Many of the students say they are uncomfortable with how the election played out on Tuesday.
They want to let others who are struggling to know they are wanted and their opinions matter.
“A lot of hate crimes are spiking due to the election so we wanted to have a community gathering where we show students on campus who may not feel safe that they are wanted here, they do contribute to our community in so many different ways and they are loved,” says event organizer Sam Ferguson.
Ferguson says Trump supporters were also at the meeting and both sides were able to listen and talk with each other.
