Open Forum to Be Held Discussing Heroin and Opioid Crisis

As the heroin and opioid epidemic continues in the area, agencies are coming together in hopes to fight back.

“Eyes Wide Open”, a community forum, will be held in West Fargo next month.

It’s a way for local law enforcement, the medical community and the U.S. Attorney’s office to help inform the public about the region’s recent rash of deadly heroin and prescription drug overdoses.

Law enforcement says it is a way to help educate everyone.

“We have had quite a few of these happenings in the last month here locally, and its almost like it kind of came on very quick and very fast, and  to get more information about this stuff is good for us, law enforcement, and just the general public,” said Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist.

The forum will be held on May 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the West Fargo High School theatre.
