Two People Arrested After Fargo School Lockdown, Alleged Theft, Car Crash

One man is charged after running from police, allegedly causing a car crash and sending a number of area schools into lockdown.

The suspect is being charged with multiple charges including DUI and theft of a motor vehicle.

Fargo Police were called to an area of north Fargo just after 9:30 Friday morning after a report of two people car prowling.

The suspects split up and police say they asked Fargo North and other area schools to lockdown and keep students inside.

One suspect was tracked to a parking lot at a strip mall on 19th Avenue North where he allegedly caused a three-vehicle accident.

Police say they are surprised at how bold the suspects seemed.

“Car prowling is one of our common defenses. For them to do it in broad daylight though, that’s a little bit less common because there’s more people out and about,” said Fargo Police Deputy Chief, Joe Anderson.

The other suspect has also been arrested.

Names have not been released yet due to the suspects not cooperating with police.
