Williston Will Not Stop Booming

The slowdown in oil country isn’t having much of an impact on the population growth.

The numbers of births and student enrollment haven’t stopped rising in Williston.

Although many transient oil workers have moved on, many families have stayed, causing birth and student enrollment to double in under a decade.

Since 2007, births in the region have increased 50 percent and the Williston Public School District’s growth in kindergarten enrollment has surpassed 48 percent.

Educators are concerned about whether schools have the capacity to handle the next wave of students.
