WE Fest Salutes Veterans

Nineteen men and women are having the moment of a life time on stage at WE Fest.

“We have 19 of the best and brightest America has to offer, they;re taking their oath of enlistment, what a great night,” says Scott wold, Master Sargeant

And Following that, those here are getting a special treat

“We’re going to be flying 150 knots and then 1,00ft over the stage there so it’s going to be a good show for sure,” says B52 pilot, Craig Quinnett.

A B52 airplane, seen at events like the Super Bowl, and now right here in Detroit Lakes.

And there’s chances for crowds to get a glimpse into the Air Force.

“We have the Air Force back here they have their vapor, and they’re having their pull up contest, so if you want to do your feet of strength or wanna see the vapor, a high tech car!” says Mark Bjerke , WE Fest Sales and Marketing Director.

It’s not the first time the country music fest has paid a tribute to those who have served the nation.

“We’ve had all the branches here at one point or another, doing their recruiting or helping us as partners,” says Bjerke.

There’s something about country festivals that scream red white and blue…

“The country crowd is a very patriotic crowd so it’s just kind of a natural fit,” says Bjerke.

“Patriotsim…that’s it one word…patriotism,” says Wold.

“I can’t go anywhere without anyone thanking me for my service, wanting to shake my hand,” says Quinnett.

Proving, its not just just musicians that get the crowd going wild.

There’s going to be a lot of cheering when we have that swear in depth and when we have that fly over. In fact I’d be surprised if we had a dry eye in the house.
