Search Warrant Details Released in Fatal Fargo Officer Shooting
New details are released of the stand-off that left a Fargo police officer and the shooter dead.
It was a night the Fargo community will never forget.
As shots rang throughout the night of February 11th, shooter Marcus Schumacher exchanged several words with police.
But the search warrant doesn’t just detail the shooter’s conversation with police, it also reveals what was behind his door.
At approximately 7:02pm, Fargo Police respond to a complaint of a man with a gun.
That complaint was by Schumacher’s son, who called police stating that his father tried to shoot his mother.
He said his mother had left the home and he was calling from Sanford Hospital.
At 8:12pm, the shooter, Marcus Schumacher, called police dispatch.
He said he had a weapon, but wouldn’t state what kind.
Two minutes later, Schumacher said he would wait for everyone to get out of the area before he does something.
He also warned he would shoot anyone that comes close to the house.
Seven minutes later, at 8:21pm, a gunshot was fired from the window.
At 8:24, the shooter told dispatch “I told you I was serious.”
Then at 9:15, multiple shots were fired and eight minutes later, dispatch was notified an officer was down.
Fast forward to 5:50am, officers went inside the shooter’s home and found Schumacher dead.
But that’s not all they found.
Numerous spent shell casings and 22 tear gas casings were found on the kitchen floor, in the living room and the entry way.
Five guns were also found, as well as two empty prescription bottles of opiates and other painkillers.
The warrant also noted a flash drive containing aerial photos was also found.
It is unknown what those photos are meant for.
