Officer Moszer: The Final Tribute

Fargo police officer Jason Moszer was killed in the line of duty and thousands of people from around the nation and Canada turned out to celebrate his life.

News Director Lezlie Johnson put together a tribute to the officer who meant so much to so many people.

“Today’s a very different day for myself and our department. We’re going to lay a brother to rest today and do our best to honor him and his family properly,” said Fargo Police Chief David Todd.

“The visuals, the emotions you see and feel from events like this is something that gives you a deeper drive. You know that when you’re responding to that next emergency call the community does have your back,” said Lt. Tory Jacobson of the Moorhead Police Department.

“His mission was to protect and serve our community and use his special skills to save lives. The fact he was the recipient of a silver star in our department for bravery and saving lives just shows how good he was at carrying out that mission,” said Chief Todd.

“If you ride motorcycle, one of your favorite songs has got to be Bon Jovi’s “Wanted: Dead or Alive.” That’s what Jason wanted, he didn’t have anything else to tell us about what he wanted but said make sure they play “Wanted: Dead or Alive” when we walk out,” said Rev. Kevin Kloster.

“Thank you to the many men and women who wear the badge for showing up today. Their outpouring of support has been nothing but amazing,” said Chief Todd.
