Police are still looking for the man that robbed a gas station early Friday morning.
The suspect entered the Petro Serve off I-94 and South University before 3:30 AM.
Fargo Deputy Chief Joe Anderson says that as of now they’re can’t confirm if the robber had a gun.
They are still investigating the case and looking through surveillance footage.
Although there’s no confirmation yet, Anderson says they do believe there was a gun involved.
Parts of a weapon were recovered at the scene.
“I don’t know what would cause for parts of a gun to fall unless the gun was dropped on the ice and someone picked it up,” says Anderson.
The suspect is believed to be a black male, 5’10”, with an average build.
Official says that he wore a black ski mask, grey jacket and dark pants.
The robber grabbed a customer and the clerk noticed.
He demanded cash and fled on foot.
Petro says that he got away with less than $300.
There are 20 cameras installed all over.
Petro is hoping this will help identify the suspect.
“Very surprised he would pick that store because we do have cameras and you’d think you pick an easier target but usually those robbers don’t finish top of their class,” says CEO of Petro Serve Kent Strang.
Deputy Chief Anderson says that no one was harmed during the robbery but this doesn’t mean the suspect isn’t dangerous.
Anderson explains, “You can’t really just tell what a person can do to get away from law enforcement and I think we learned our lesson from the events of this week to realize that some people are capable of evil things.”
Officers from nearby agencies have continued stepped up to help serve and protect the Fargo area.
Even during tough times, crime doesn’t stop for anyone.
Officers are still working to keep the community safe.
That’s why this man shows support.
“I feel bad that this has happened in our community. So I just want to show my support no matter the weather or anything. You know, I just want to show that I support them,” says Nicholas Barth of West Fargo.
The robber is still at large.
Now law enforcement is asking help from the public.
