Single in Fargo? You’re in One of the Best Places!
Being single in Fargo turns out to be a good thing.
Fargo ranked fourth in the nation in a study by SmartAsset as one of the best cities for singles.
According to the study, Fargo is one of the best places for singles because of our low unemployment rate, entertainment options and other factors.
So I went out to see just what people think.
Being single in Fargo this Valentine’s Day is turning out to have perks.
Fargo’s low employment rate has made it an ideal place be financially independent.
One person I spoke to was surprised.
“I would think it wouldn’t be a place for singles,” said Cassy Vettleson of Fargo.
Cassy Vettleson has lived in Fargo for almost three years; she says she actually thought the opposite.
“I think it’s more of family place which is weird, because the economy is so good. I guess it’s a college town so that kind of makes sense,” said Cassy.
The rankings of the study were also based on factors such as bars per 100,000 people, as well as median rent.
For others rejoining the single world, like Wayne Anderson, hearing about the ranking is good news as he is looking for love.
“I am, and the girls my age aren’t as much fun so I’m looking for a younger heifer,” said Wayne Anderson of Fargo.
Debbie of the Red River Singles Club says the ranking also comes as good news.
The club that has been connecting singles in the FM for almost 40 years now, but has slowed as times have changed.
The days of meeting a potential partner at the VFW through the Red River Single Club is somewhat of the past, but organizer hope the ranking bring people brings back to doing things the old fashion way.
“Get a little bit away from the web dating stuff, and it’s more personal. It’s a lot of fun even if you’re not looking for a date. You can find lots of really good friends.”
Saint Cloud, Minnesota ranked fifth best city for singles.
Missoula, Montana was number one.
