Twin Cities Pride Organizers Apologize, Say Police Are Welcome at Parade
Organizers originally wanted limited participation in wake of the not guilty verdict of the shooting of Philando Castile

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Organizers of the Twin Cities Pride Parade set to take place Sunday have changed their minds about police officers being at the event.
Organizers say they didn’t think about the negative message it would be sending by asking police to minimize their presence at the parade and didn’t think about alternatives.
They say now they are inviting officers to participate in the parade by marching with other people and holding LGBTQ flags.
Organizers originally wanted limited participation in wake of the not guilty verdict of the shooting of Philando Castile.
