West Fargo High School Preps For Opening Night of Oedipus
Students at West Fargo High School bring an old Greek play to the 21st century.
Students spent a month writing the script before starting rehearsals of the play Oedipus.
Instead of Oedipus as king, students got in the political spirit and rewrote it to have him run as governor.
Just in time for the primaries, the show features a modern day political scandal.
“It’s just a very personal show to all of us. It’s one thing to just do an Andrew Lloyd Webber show, any random show and just read the script, but it’s another thing to put your own work out there and its really incredible,” says West Fargo Student Anthony Peralta.
Guys and Dolls was the theater department’s last show.
The department has three performances a year.
Oedipus will run Thursday through Saturday at West Fargo High School.
The show starts at 7:30.
