Grand Forks Man Arrested for DUI Twice in One Night

One Grand Forks man had a very bad night.

The Grand Forks Police Department says officers approached 56-year-old Carl Schempp shortly before 10:30 pm Friday, after his vehicle got caught in a snow bank.

He was arrested for DUI, booked into jail, and eventually released.

Schempp was pulled over again just after 3:30 am Saturday, after a citizen reported a vehicle driving erratically.

It’s not quite Groundhog Day yet, but he still went through a repeat arrest for DUI.

The North Dakota Courts website says Schempp only has one previous run in with the law in the state, a DUI back in 1985.
