Force for Good: Fargo Force Players Highlight Importance of Education
Fargo Force players are using their success as a force for good at local schools.
Players read to students at Bennett Elementary in South Fargo.
After helping the kids enjoy a couple of picture books, the athletes talked about what it takes to become a hockey player.
They say it takes much more than skill.
They told students to study hard and get good grades in order to get the chance to get in the ice.
“Well obviously sports ends some day,” says Force Forward Blake Lizotte. “You need something to fall back on. So education’s probably more important than sports.”
Force players often take time to visit kids in the community, going about once a week when the team is playing at home.
