Enjoy Chili, Donate to the United Way
It was the 8th Annual Roers Keller Williams Chili Feed for United Way
FARGO, ND — It was a great day for a hot bowl of chili and a chance to raise money for a good cause.
It was the 8th Annual Roers Keller Williams Chili Feed for United Way.
More than 50 types of chili were served.
They all competed for the best chili and to earn a valuable prize pack donated by local companies.
The chili feed began as a lunch room contest.
Last year, it hosted 700 people and organizers say they’re impressed with how the event has grown.
“People come out and test 50 chilis,” said Roers CFO, Sarah West. “It’s a contest so people get rowdy and want their chili to win so that’s always fun. Always we take the opportunity to really leverage our relationships with our vendors and the other people that we work with in the community.”
Around 850 people attended the event and helped raise over $44,000.
Celebrity cooks included MSUM President Anne Blackhurst and NDSU President Dean Bresciani.
