UPDATE: Big Pine Lake Incident: Woman Dead, Man in Custody

PERHAM, Minn. (KVRR) — A standoff on Big Pine Lake near Perham, Minnesota is over with a woman dead and a man in custody.

Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says names are being withheld as the investigation is ongoing.

Numerous crews responded to the home east of Perham around 10:30 Monday morning after the sheriff’s office got a call that a man had hurt a woman and that she was dead.

Multiple agencies responded including the SWAT Team and people were evacuated from nearby homes during a standoff with the male suspect.

Around 4 p.m. Monday, the sheriff in a press release said the man was later taken into custody and the woman inside was found dead.

They say there is no known threat to the public.

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating.

PERHAM, Minn. (KDLM) — Members of the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office have begun evacuating nearby residences as a stand-off continues at a home on Big Pine Lake near Perham.

Law enforcement wants nearby homeowners to wait until a deputy comes to their door to evacuate them and not leave their homes on their own.

Law enforcement have a residence near 428th Street surrounded and have been seen wearing tactical gear.
