Two Local Credit Unions expected to merge in December
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR)- Two local credit unions plan to merge at the end of this year.
United Savings Credit Union and Freedom Community Credit Union plan to merge in December.
This plan has been in action for awhile, but they are still waiting on approval from the state.
This merger is expected to help members of both credit unions, as well as the community as a whole.
President and CEO of United Savings Credit Union Jim Schaefbauer said, “They bring in their members and all of their employees are coming in with the merger as well. Their branches come in”
He also said “So now we got instead of 2 branches serving their membership and 4 branches serving our membership we now have 6 branches serving our combined membership.” More people will be able to serve both memberships.
This merger would also allow services given to both union memberships that they normally wouldn’t have.
