FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A holiday tradition is expanding this season in the metro.

Christkindlmarkt is moving to two weekends this year. You can join in the fun Friday, Saturday and Sunday both this weekend and next.
The market is modeled after traditional European Christmas markets.
There’s food, music, shopping and activities both indoors and outdoors at the Fargo Civic Center.
Organizers wanted to expand to a second weekend this year because not everyone has had the chance to join in the fun during busy holiday times.

Simone Wai with Folkways says, “We wanted to really be able to share the event with more people. People have always say that ‘Oh my family is gonna be in town. We’d love to bring them to the event but it’s over by then.’ So we decided to take our one weekend event and expand it over two weekends.”

Christkindlmarkt normally draws around 30 thousand people when it was over one weekend. Organizers say they’re excited to see how many people can make it over two weekends.
