Grand Forks man found guilty of murder

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR-KNOX) – A jury has found a Grand Forks man guilty of murder and tampering with evidence.

Forty-year-old Kindi Jalloh was charged in the May 2022 death of 67-year-old Douglas Elgert. Police classified the death as a homicide one day after Elgert’s body was found in his north Grand Forks residence.

Trial began Nov. 13th. The case went to the jury Tuesday, and jurors returned a verdict hours later.

A pre-sentence investigation was ordered. Sentencing is set for Jan. 8th.

Jalloh faces a maximum penalty of life without parole.
