RDO hosts Annual Caters Taters for Charity
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – RDO Caters Taters for Charity takes over a ballroom at Holiday Inn in Fargo for its annual potato luncheon fundraiser.
People from around the metro came out for the anticipated baked potato lunch.
This year celebrates a special milestone with the event having raised over one million dollars in its 23 years for local organizations.
“It’s a great event, giving back to the community is one of our key stakeholders and this is a great example for us to demonstrate it. It’s a way to bring a lot of other businesses in town together. There’s other people who have helped support this event for years with us. So we are going to feed 2500 to 3000 today and it’s pretty exciting.” says RDO’s CEO Tim Curoe.
Hope INC was the non profit of choice this year which hosts sporting and recreational activities for children and adults of all physical abilities.
“We’ve gotten to know the hope INC organization. It’s a phenomenal organization. It’s an organization for adults and children that have mobility challenges, it gives them sports and recreation activities to help their health and well being. It’s a great organization, they support over 250 families so for me personally and my team we feel honored to partner with an organization like Hope Inc.” Says Curoe.
“Well what a fantastic event! First of all we’re thrilled to have been selected by RDO and thank you RDO very much. The dollars raised are going to have a great impact on our organization. Everything we do for our participants is free, this is going to continue to allow us to do that. It’s going to allow us to continue to expand our programming to reach more people and just a great day for Hope INC.” Said Hope Inc’s executive director Bill Grommesh.
Caters and taters have served nearly fifty thousand potatoes since its first luncheon in 2000 to help bring the community together.
