Rural ND Customers Continue To Lose Power Days After Ice Storm
The Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative in southeast North Dakota says more power lines are getting damaged even though the storm is over

SOUTHEAST NORTH DAKOTA (KVRR) – The Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative in southeast North Dakota says more power lines are getting damaged even though the ice storm is over.
They started Wednesday with a little more than 1,700 people without power. Currently, their outage map shows more than 2,000 without power.
They say as long as ice remains on power lines and poles, they will continue to break.
They say most of the substations on the west side of their system do not have power.
Crews from other cooperatives are coming today to help with repairs.
They are reminding people to not drive over or go near any downed power lines.
