Hundreds in Cass County still without power following ice storm

FARGO (KVRR) – About 480 Cass County Electric Coop customers were still without power Wednesday, following an ice storm that moved through the region on December 25.
At one time, more than 4,600 of the coop’s customers were affected.
“Our employees had nearly 3,000 miles of overhead power line to patrol and assess for damage, according to CCEC. “Since December 25, our CCEC vehicles alone have driven over an estimated 54,000 miles to report, record, and repair these issues.”
“We have more than 1,100 broken poles, and over 460 of them have been replaced. Crews continue working around the clock to assess damage and work on solutions to bring as many members back on as soon as possible.”
About 85 workers from 14 North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota power companies are assisting.
The coop estimates that all customers will have their power restored by the end of the weekend.
