Attorney General Closes Fargo Officer Shooting Investigation

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley announces the investigation into the Fargo police officer involved shooting last July is now closed.

Wrigley also says a copy of the report and videos associated with the investigation are available from North Dakota BCI and Fargo Police Department.

KVRR Local News has submitted a request for copies of the report and videos.

Mohamad Barakat of Fargo ambushed officers responding to a crash on July 14th.

He shot and killed one officer and injured two others along with an innocent bystander.

Barakat was shot and killed at the scene.

Tannerite was recovered from his vehicle along with several guns, ammunition, and gasoline.

Authorities believe he was planning a mass casualty event during that week’s Downtown
Street Fair.
