Tennessee State names NDSU’s Tyler Roehl as Associate Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (KVRR) – Tennessee State University’s Head Coach Eddie George has named NDSU’s Tyler Roehl as the program’s associate head coach and offensive coordinator. Roehl had previously interviewed for Tennessee State’s head coaching position December of 2021. TSU plays in the Ohio Valley Conference on the FCS level.

A native of West Fargo and a star with the program, Roehl was with the Bison for 11 years. He first worked with tight ends and fullbacks in 2014 and was elevated to the offensive coordinator position in 2019. Roehl was with the Bison for 11 years. The Bison led the FCS in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and offensive touchdowns last season and the offense has led the country in rushing touchdowns for three straight seasons and ranked first or second in scoring four out of the five seasons that Roehl has been offensive coordinator.

“My family and I couldn’t be more excited to join TSU because of the people, the vision, and the opportunity to positively impact the community and team,” said Roehl through Tennessee State. “We are going to Nashville on a mission to do things at a championship level daily.”

The Bison host the Tennessee State Tigers on Saturday September 7th.
