Fargo Liquor Control Board levies fine and suspension against The Windbreak
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Fargo Liquor Control Board has decided to levy another violation against the Windbreak for the second time this week. Which means they will pay a $1,000 fine and have a one-day suspension if passed by the city commissioners.
Reports from the Fargo Police Department says servers at the embattled bar over served a person October 21 last year. The report says the person was served four mixed drinks and 10 shots of alcohol within a 96-minute period. And the person was later found passed out, couldn’t stand on his own and urinated himself.
City Commissioner Dave Piepkorn responded to the bar’s representation saying this wasn’t a violation.
“I mean that is a prodigious alcohol consumption. 10 shots in an hour and a half. I’m not a medical doctor but you can die from alcohol poisoning with that much alcohol in your system.” said Piepkorn.
According to the penalty system in Fargo, a third level of a violation would be a $2,000 fine and a two-day suspension and a fourth level would result in the revoking of the liquor license.
