Two People Arrested In Pursuit That Started in Valley City

CASS CO., N.D. (KVRR) — Two people were arrested in that pursuit which started in Valley City just after 6 a.m.
Police responded to Love’s Travel Stop for people acting suspiciously by entering and exiting the store numerous times.
While officers were talking to the suspects, the driver fled in a stolen vehicle.
Spike strips were used to stop the vehicle east of Casselton.
The driver, 29-year-old Christopher Wilkie of West Fargo, was arrested on numerous charges and for multiple warrants.
Wilkie was just arrested last month for burglary at a West Fargo salvage yard.
A passenger, 27-year-old Justice Erickson of Fargo, was arrested for outstanding warrants.
A Cass County Sheriff’s Office squad vehicle was damaged while responding to that pursuit.
A deputy was on the way to assist North Dakota Highway Patrol around 7 a.m.
The deputy was heading west on I-94 near Mapleton nearing the traffic stop location when the squad was hit from behind.
There were no injuries.
The deputy had emergency lights activated at the time of the incident.
The driver was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
