Team Manager, Jake Peters’ Energetic Impact on Davies Boys Basketball
The Story of Davies' Jake Peters Contagious Energy
FARGO, N.D. — Jake Peters is the team manager for the Davies Eagles. He does a little bit of everything; whether that is helping the team stay hyped, or helping the team stay hydrated, you can count on Jake to keep the team energized.
“He’s a guy who comes and does tasks for us every day and cheers the guys on and you see his energy on the bench,” said head coach, Bart Manson.
“He brings a lot of energy to the team; excitement, happiness.. you know he’s always the most excited person when we win. He’s down too when we lose so he’s just another one of the people on our team,” said junior guard, Mason Klabo.
“Just that positive attitude he brings every day, it’s amazing. You walk into practice, he’s there with a smile on your face. You miss a shot in practice, you know he’ll give you a little grief for it, pick you up a little bit so that’s always good. And then of course in games, helping out with waters, being a cheer leader,” said senior forward, Nick Hasbargen
Jake even has been known to make a few highlights himself with his excellent dance moves.
“The fun bout about it for us as coaches is that when we go back and look at the film, because we don’t see Jake a lot during the games,” said Manson.
The best part for Jake is getting to be a part of the team and spending time with his good friends.
“We were in the same class in second grade and Mrs. Welly is who we had and ever since then we just kind of clicked and became good friends. He’s always been into sports and just being good friends in Elementary School and then we went to Middle School and in 7th grade he was the water boy manager for our middle school team in seventh grade and then obviously he followed up into football and basketball in high school too,” said Klabo.
“I hope it means as much to him as it means to us. Because like I said, he’s making friends, lifelong friends.. I know I am always going to have a special place in my heart for Jake” said Hasbargen.
“I’m so grateful, this team manager, so proud of you… every day this team. I love this team,” said Peters.
