Starbucks workers in Grand Forks store vote to unionize; first time in North Dakota

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) – Starbucks workers in a Grand Forks store have voted to unionize, becoming the first group to do so in the state of North Dakota. The store at Washington and Demers had a 13 to 10 vote to join the Starbucks Workers United.

This joins the movement with 0ver 10,000 baristas and 410 other locations in unionizing.

In February 2024, unionized Starbucks workers reached an agreement with the company to begin discussions for collective bargaining agreements for represented stores and partners.
