Feds investigating report of laser aimed at plane near Fargo

FARGO (KVRR-KFGO) – The FAA is investigating a report that a green laser was aimed at a small airplane, about eight miles from Hector International Airport in Fargo.
The incident happened around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday. The aircraft was flying at 3,500 feet. No one was hurt.
Last year, pilots across the country reported more than 13,300 laser strikes. More than 300 pilots have reported eye injuries related to laser strikes since 2010.
Shining lasers at airplanesĀ is a federal offense. Fines can reach as high as $11,000 per violation.
