NoDak Forward Jackson Blake Signs With Carolina Hurricanes
NORTH DAKOTA FORWARD AND HOBEY BAKER FINALIST SIGNS PRO DEAL.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR)–Hobey Baker Award Hat Trick finalist Jackson Blake has signed a 3-year entry level deal with the Carolina Hurricanes. Blake will receive $775,000 at the NHL level in 2023-24 and $832,500 at the NHL level in 2024-25 and 2025-26. He will receive $80,000 at the American Hockey League (AHL) level for all three seasons, and the deal will include a signing bonus of $277,500.
The Eden Prairie, Minnesota native is coming off one of the best sophomore seasons in North Dakota program history finishing with 22 goals and 38 assists becoming only the second UND player in the last decade to hit the 60-points in a season mark (Brock Boeser, 2015-16). He was named NCHC player of the year for his incredible season.
Blake was selected in the fourth round, 109th overall in the 2021 NHL draft and Carolina needed to sign him this offseason or risk losing Blake to free agency. By signing the deal, Blake ends his career in Grand Forks after two seasons. During his time he totaled 29 total goals and 52 assists good for a total of 81 points.
The Hobey Baker award ceremony is set to take place the evening of Friday, April 10.
