Man claimed he threw daughter into Red River, child was safe in other location

FARGO (KVRR-KFGO) – Police are investigating after a man called Red River Regional Dispatch Monday morning and claimed he threw his daughter from the Main Avenue Bridge into the Red River.

First responders were called to the area at 4:19 a.m.

Police contacted the child’s mother, who was out of state, and determined the child was with her and safe.

Sgt. Sam Bollman says initially, police weren’t sure if the incident was real, or involved mental health issues or drugs.
