Plunging into cold water to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota
MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Normally in April, it’s a little bit cooler for Polar Plunges, but that didn’t stop people from taking the leap at MSUM. Using a Plungster pool, which makes it colder despite the warm April temps, they brought in money and awareness for the Special Olympics.
This plunge is an effort made by both MSUM and Affinity Plus. As over 140 plungers signed up to take the leap.
“All this money is going to go to something, a greater good. And part of that greater good is Minnesota is actually hosting the USA Special Olympics Games in 2026. All these funds are going to be a part of that as well.” said Rozlyn Johnson, the Moorhead Branch Manager of Affinity Plus.
Over $15,000 was raised by the plungers.
