Fargo Force Prepare for Western Conference Finals

THE FORCE WILL BATTLE THE MUSKETEERS BEGINNING SUNDAY NIGHT.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR)–The Fargo Force are now in the Clark Cup Playoffs Western Conference Finals. After defeating the Tri-City Storm in the Western Conference Semifinals, the Force now prepare to take on the Sioux City Musketeers beginning this weekend.

The Force dominated Tri-City in the western conference semifinals this past week winning each game by 2 goals. Now, the force look to continue that momentum into the next round when they take on Sioux City.

“They’re a team that’s very talented and very skilled,” said head coach Brett Skinner on playing Sioux City. “We’re going to have to defend hard and defend the rush. Offensively, we’re going to have to really be dialed in and make plays. We’re gonna have our hands full.”

Forward Mac Swanson shared his thoughts on the series ahead as well.

“[I think we have to do] everything that I think we’ve been successful with this year so far,” said Swanson. “[We have to continue] playing as a team. Really good defense is critical in the playoffs, so I think if we just stick to our structure and how we play, I think we should be in good shape.”

The force will look to continue their domination of Sioux City in this playoff series. Throughout the regular season, the force met the musketeers Eight times. They went 7-1 in those meetings, but they know the playoffs are a different beast and they will have to play at the top of their game to advance.

“I mean, they’re second in the Western Conference, so they’re obviously a really good team,” said Swanson. “I think going 7-1 [against Sioux City] helps, but obviously, that doesn’t mean anything in the playoffs. So, it’s going to be really tough challenge and I think we’re looking forward to it.

Coach Skinner added, “[We are in] the Western Conference Finals, so obviously, you’re gonna face a good team. They finished second place in pretty much every statistical category you can, so you’re gonna get a tough opponent. We know it’s gonna be a tough task…I don’t have to convince anyone that.”

The match-up for game one between the Musketeers and Force will be on Sunday night at 5:05 p.m.

Game two will take place Monday night at 7:05 before the series shifts to Sioux City. It is a best of 5 series.
