Grand Forks School Board votes to not renew Ben Franklin Elementary Principal’s contract
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) – The Grand Forks School Board voted 5-4 on Monday to not renew the contract for Joshua Mailhot, the principal for Ben Franklin Elementary.
Superintendent Terry Brenner laid out reasons for recommendation to the board, which included Mailhot’s inability to follow directives, inability to provide a clear vision and model of instruction and the inability to maintain trust with who he supervises.
“I am recommending that the school board performance non-review Principal Joshua Mailhot’s contract. A contract non-renewal if the board approve so moves, serves to end the individuals employment at the conclusion of the current school year.” said Brenner.
The school board held their special meeting regarding Mailhot for less than eight minutes.
