Dominant Fargo Davies girls’ soccer aiming for shot at state title

FARGO (KVRR) – We are getting closer and closer to the end of the regular season for girls soccer here in North Dakota. And one team on the east side is leaps and bounds the best program with suffocating defense and lightning fast offense.

And that is the Fargo Davies Eagles, who are 9-0-1 in the EDC and have only given up one goal all season long.

“They want to leave something here in the end and come away and continue to push in the EDC and finalize that piece. And then when we get to the state tournament be able to have an opportunity to play in the state championship game.” said Fargo Davies Head Coach Nick Christianson.

The last time the Eagles had won the title, it was back in 2018. They are currently the back-to-back EDC conference champs and are looking to make it three in-a-row and want to take home the state title. For seniors like Kaia Davidson, this is their final chance with this group of girls to go out on top.

“It would mean everything to win state, especially being successful these last couple of years, just not finishing all the way. I think that it would mean the world to me and we’re working everyday to get there.” said Davidson.

For a fan of the game, normally you see the results and it shows complete domination. It’s because of the hard work that is put in behind the scenes. From the offseason workouts to taking practice seriously, this group of girls are clicking on all cylinders on and off the pitch.

“Think we’re a really special group. I think it’s really nice that we returned a lot of players this season and we’re a really tight knit group and good friends so we’re able to connect passes and really work together as a team on the field.” said Leighton Roberson.

The Eagles are preparing to continue their dominant stretch as they take on Grand Forks Central on Tuesday here in Fargo.
