Grand Opening For Innovation Shop at Grand Farm, West of Casselton

CASS CO., N.D.(KVRR) — A grand opening is held for the new Innovation Shop at Grand Farm, just west of Casselton.
The facility will support innovation in autonomous and precision agriculture technology and help boost productivity for farmers.
Gov. Doug Burgum and Lt. Gov. Tammy Miller joined federal, state and local officials at the shop.
Burgum said it has the potential to spin off new companies.
He also thanked private sector partners who provided matching funds, including lead donor Gary Tharaldson the founder of Tharaldson Hospitality Management and Tharaldson Ethanol.
Microsoft invested $1.5 million in October 2019 to help get Grand Farm started.
Sen. John Hoeven announces he will hold a field hearing of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee at the Grand Farm Innovation Campus this summer.
Hoeven says it’s a “fitting location, as this facility helps solidify North Dakota as the lead dog in the precision ag race.”
He says it is bringing new innovations to market that empower our farmers and ranchers to feed our nation and the world.
Hoeven is organizing the hearing through his role as Ranking Member of the committee.
He wants to highlight and advance expansive agriculture research partnerships across the state.
