UPDATE: 24-year-old identified as victim of fatal shooting; person of interest still being sought by Fargo Police
FARGO (KVRR) – (UPDATE 11:24 pm) – The Fargo Police Dept. says 24-year-old Fargo resident, Zion Brooks, was the victim that died on Monday.
Fargo Police have released the name of a person of interest in a Monday night homicide.
They are looking for 20-year-old J’Veonte Malike Logan, also known as Amire Logan, of Fargo.
A person has died after being shot in the face. Fargo police were dispatched to the 2200 block of 6th Avenue South shortly after 8 p.m. Monday on a shooting report.
The suspects had fled the scene before officers arrived.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead. The victim’s name is being withheld, pending notification of the next of kin.
Speaking with witnesses, officers believe those involved were known to each other.
Fargo Police say one of two vehicles seen leaving the scene at a high rate of speed has been located.
They say they found the orange Jeep Compass with unknown license plates but provided no other details.
They are still looking for a gray Hyundai Santa Fe with ND plates 628 DZR. Police believe Logan was driving that vehicle.
