Authorities release name in fatal Fourth of July motorcycle crash

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Authorities have identified the people involved in a two-vehicle crash on the Fourth of July.

It happened at the intersection of 25th Street South and 13th Avenue South in Fargo shortly after 10:30 Thursday night.

North Dakota Highway Patrol says 47-year-old Jason Short of Fargo was driving a motorcycle on 13th Avenue when he went through a red light.

Both Short and his passenger, 19-year-old Lanayah Warren of Wyoming, were thrown off.

Short died at the scene and Warren was transported to Sanford Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Neither were wearing a helmet.

The driver and a passenger in the car suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
