Free Cuts for Kids Before They Go Back To School

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The Salvation Army once again teamed up with Josef’s School of Hair, Skin and Body to provide free haircuts for K thru 12 students.

Last year, 180 students got free haircuts in the FM Metro.

They were also able to receive a temporary tattoo, face paint and a variety of snacks to take home.

This event has been ongoing for the past several years.

Both The Salvation Army and Josef’s instructors have enjoyed seeing the smiles on their faces after receiving their haircuts.

“With our culture of Josef’s it’s always about giving back and so this is just something that we are able to do especially for the kids. And we are just really inspired by just wanting to help,” said Kirsten Pierre, a cosmetology instructor.

The instructors at Josef’s hope to have events in the future that will bring more of the community together, including the barber schools in the area.
