Florida Woman Arrested for Theft by Swindle in Fergus Falls

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — A Florida woman is facing charges for her role in scamming someone in Fergus Falls out of $20,000.
22-year-old Nadia Islam was arrested when she went to the home to pick up cash.
The victim called police on August 14 saying their computer froze and they called Microsoft.
A return caller told the victim they needed remote access to the computer and said they owed $44,000.
They were instructed to withdraw $20,000 from the bank saying it was for home improvements.
The next day, the victim was again contacted by the scammers who asked for another $20,000 and that is when Islam was arrested.
She is charged with conspiracy theft by swindle.
