UPDATE: Others Involved In Deadly Shooting at Prairie Heights Church ID’D, No Arrests Made

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — West Fargo Police say 25-year-old Austin Strom of Browerville, Minnesota was trying to unlawfully enter Prairie Heights Church just before 8 a.m. Saturday when he was confronted by two men.

They say 66-year-old Kent Hodges of West Fargo confronted Strom as he continued attempts to enter the building.

Strom became extremely agitated and physically attacked Hodges who is a member of the church.

Police say 53-year-old Donald Barron II of Moorhead  witnessed the assault and attempted to intervene.

Strom began to advance at Barron who then fired a single gunshot from his personal handgun.

Strom was taken to a local hospital where he died.

Hodges was also taken to a hospital with severe, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say there are no pending charges at this time.

The report will be sent to the Cass County State’s Attorney’s Office for review upon completion of the investigation.
