Fatal crash at Park Tavern patio in St. Louis Park

ST. LOUIS PARK, Minn. (KVRR/FOX 9) — Two people are dead, and three others are injured after a man drove into the patio at Park Tavern in St. Louis Park.

Police have not released the victims’ identities but Methodist Hospital have said a staff member was killed in the crash and a Park Tavern server, Kristina Folkerts, was the other victim.

Park Tavern has set up a GoFundMe for Folkerts.

The crash happened on Sunday night just after 8 p.m.

Park Tavern is a longtime restaurant and bowling center located along Louisiana Avenue.

Police say surveillance footage shows a male driver entering the parking lot and attempting to park before driving into the patio area. He was arrested at the scene on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide.

It’s unclear if the crash was an accident. Minnesota State Patrol is conducting accident reconstruction.
