NFL ANNOUNCES MINNESOTA VIKINGS 2026 SCHEDULE

Vikings slated for four prime time games from Weeks 9-15, including one international contest

Eagan, Minn. (VIKINGS) – The Minnesota Vikings will begin their 66th NFL season in 2026. The team will play nine home games at U.S. Bank Stadium and eight road games, including an international game in Mexico City.

The Vikings will open the season at home for the first time since 2023, welcoming the Green Bay Packers on Sept. 13 at 3:25 p.m. CT. It marks the eighth time in franchise history Minnesota has played Green Bay in Week 1 and the first since 2022.

In Week 2, Minnesota will travel to the Windy City to take on the Bears on Sept. 20 at noon CT. With a win, the Vikings will boast a seven-game win streak in Chicago for the first time in franchise history.

The Vikings will head to Tampa Bay in Week 3 on Sept. 27 at 3:05 p.m. CT, seeking their first victory at Raymond James Stadium since 2014. The two teams most recently met in Week 1 of the 2023 season.

In Week 4, Minnesota will host the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 4 at 3:05 p.m. CT, marking Miami’s second trip all-time to U.S. Bank Stadium and first since 2018.

The Vikings will travel to Caesars Superdome in Week 5 to take on the Saints on Oct. 11 at noon CT. With a victory, Minnesota would boast three consecutive wins against New Orleans for the first time since it posted four straight from 2002-08.

Following the team’s bye in Week 6, the Vikings will host the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7 on Oct. 25 before traveling to Detroit in Week 8 to face the Lions on Nov. 1. Both games will take place at noon CT.

In Week 9, the Vikings and Buffalo Bills will square off on Monday Night Football for the first time in series history; kickoff is set for Nov. 9 at 7:15 p.m. CT. Minnesota seeks its third-straight MNF victory for the first time since a four-game win streak from 1992-94.

The Vikings will head to Green Bay in Week 10 for a noon CT kickoff before playing their first-ever game in Mexico City in Week 11, taking on the San Francisco 49ers at Estadio Banorte on Sunday Night Football on Nov. 22 at 7:20 p.m. CT. The matchup marks the NFL’s sixth game in the city and the first since 2022. The Vikings boast a 5-1 record in regular-season international play.

In Weeks 12-13, the Vikings will host two NFC South opponents, welcoming the Falcons in Week 12 on Nov. 29 at noon CT and the Panthers in Week 13 on Dec. 6 at 3:25 p.m. CT.

For the second time in matchup history, Minnesota and the New England Patriots will face off on Thursday Night Football on Dec. 10 at 7:15 p.m. CT. The Vikings seek their first victory on Thursday night since defeating the Patriots in Week 12 of the 2022 season.

In Week 15, the Vikings will welcome the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football on Dec. 20 at 7:20 p.m. CT, marking the fourth Sunday night matchup between the franchises.

In Week 16, the Vikings look to extend their four-game win streak at home against the Commanders, having not dropped a game against Washington at home since the 2007 season. The date and time will be announced at a later date.

Minnesota will play its final road game of the season in Week 17 against the New York Jets on Jan. 3 at noon CT. It marks the first time since 2018 the Vikings faced the Jets at MetLife Stadium.

The Vikings will wrap up the regular season with an NFC North battle vs. the Chicago Bears in Week 18 at U.S. Bank Stadium. Minnesota has concluded its season against a divisional opponent every year since 2010, and this matchup marks the first time since 2021 the two teams have met in a regular-season finale. The date and time will be announced at a later date.

In the preseason, Minnesota will head to East Rutherford, N.J., to play the New York Giants on Aug. 15 at noon CT, then host the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 22 at noon CT. The Vikings will conclude preseason action with a trip to Empower Field at Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos. Date and time will be announced at a later date.

2026 NFL Flexible Schedule Procedures

 

This season, “flexible scheduling” for Sunday Night Football may be used up to twice between Weeks 5-10, and in the NFL’s discretion during Weeks 11-17; for Monday Night Football at the NFL’s discretion in Weeks 12-17; and for Thursday Night Football it may be used up to twice between Weeks 13-17.  During these Flex Scheduling Windows, the games initially scheduled for Sunday Night Football (on NBC), Monday Night Football (on ESPN or ABC), and Thursday Night Football (on Amazon Prime Video) are tentatively scheduled and subject to change. Only Sunday afternoon games (or those listed as TBD) are eligible to be moved to Sunday night, Monday night, or Thursday Night, in which case the initially scheduled Thursday/Sunday/Monday night game would be moved to Sunday afternoon.  Sunday afternoon games may also be moved between 1:00 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. or 4:25 p.m. ET.  As in prior seasons, for Week 18, the final weekend of the season, the scheduling of the Saturday, Sunday afternoon, and the Sunday night games is not assigned.  In Week 18, three games will be played on Saturday (1 p.m. ET, 4:30 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. ET) with the remainder to be played on Sunday afternoon (1 p.m. ET and 4:25 p.m. ET) and one matchup to be played on Sunday night (8:20 p.m. ET).
