Lisbon Man Faces Charges After Threatening To Kill Father Over Laughing Gas

LISBON, N.D. (KVRR/NEWSDAKOTA) — A Lisbon man faces terrorizing and assault charges after allegedly threatening to kill his father over a bottle of nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas.

Court records show 31-year-old Hunter Mairs had been using marijuana, Adderall, and nitrous oxide and causing disturbances in the family home for weeks.

On Thursday night, his father took away the laughing gas, prompting Mairs to threaten to shoot him.

The threats continued into Friday when his parents found a pistol on the couch.

When his mother attempted to call police, Mairs allegedly shoved her to the floor and took her phone he also shoved his father when he intervened.

Mairs is being held at Barnes County Jail.
