Big Iron Farm and Construction Show Attracts Trade Delegates From Around the World
WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota has been the hub for many farmers and now construction workers to gather together to learn about new equipment and techniques to bring back to their work.
“The Gleaner Combine is getting a lot of ..a lot of people want to see what the new stuff is all about. The new Massey behind me it’s exciting to see what they’ve done. Definitely seeing a lot of people interested in the new stuff,” said Brad Maczkowicz, Store Manager at Butler Fargo.
The other big show for Big Iron is with the people who have traveled for the event. The North Dakota Trade Office invited international delegates like machine distributors, government, and agricultural officials to learn about what the state has to offer.
“It’s wonderful to have the international visitors come and meet with our companies. But also learn from our producers, our farmers, universities … our professors, our educational professionals that we have in the agriculture field. So we have a lot of great resources in North Dakota and we like to say it’s a one-stop shop,” said Lindsey Warner, Deputy Director of North Dakota Trade Office.
Throughout the year the Trade Office is in contact with many delegates to bring them to this event. From countries like Guatemala, Romania, and Kazakhstan. The office has aided in keeping markets open for many of the companies in North Dakota and across the nation.
“We have a very large population within our world and ninety-seven percent of the population is outside of the United States. So, it’s really important that we have places for our products to go and that we are continuing to work with other countries to increase agricultural production,” said Warner.
This year there are 10 countries who are represented at the Big Iron show. With many not only taking in the sites but also taking in notes to bring back to their work.
