FARGO, N.D (KVRR) — A judge sets bail at $750,000 for the man accused of shooting another man in downtown Fargo last week.

37-year-old Gregory LaCroix is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

He was arrested downtown without incident Thursday afternoon, many hours after the shooting.

Police say LaCroix shot a man once at Broadway and 3rd Avenue North around 2:30 a.m. and then fled the scene in a van.

The victim was taken to Sanford Medical Center with serious injuries.

An eyewitness says he saw the van with someone in the passenger seat talking before he heard a gunshot and the van sped off.

The witness ran over and used his sweater to cover the victim’s wound before asking another person to call 911.

Police say the two men knew each other.

LaCroix’s next court appearance is set for November 26.
