MSHSL FB State Tournaments Begin: Fertile-Beltrami Advances; Barnesville falls

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Thursday marked the start for Minnesota High School football state tournaments (9-player-class 5A.)

BOLD=game is yet to be played as of 11/8 (10 A.M.)

9-player:

• 2N) Fertile-Beltrami defeated 3N) Cromwell-Wright Area 48-7.
• 1N) Mountain Iron-Buhl defeated 4N) Stephen-Argyle Central 38-6.
• 2S) Hills-Beaver Creek defeated 3S) Border West 34-14
• 1S) LeRoy-Ostrander-Lyle-Pacelli vs. 4S) Renville County West will be played 11/8 at 7 P.M.

Semifinals are Thursday, November 14 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

• Mountain Iron-Buhl will play at 1 P.M.
• Fertile-Beltrami will play at 4 P.M.
• Opponents for both games are depending on the final quarterfinal game.
  • F-B will play the highest remaining South seed.
  • M-I-B will play the lowest remaining South seed.

Class A:

• 4N) Parkers Prairie defeated 1N) Upsala-Swanville 33-0.
• 3S) Springfield defeated 2S) Goodhue 20-14.
• 2N) Mahnomen / Waubun vs. 3N Deer River will be played 11/8 at 7 P.M.
• 1S) Minneota vs. 4S) Lester Prairie will be played 11/8 at 5:30 P.M.

Semifinals are Saturday, November 16 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

• Parkers Prairie will play at 11:30 A.M.
  • Their opponent will be determined by the other results. They play the highest remaining South seed.
• The other semifinal is also TBD. It will be played between the lowest remaining South seed and highest remaining North seed at 9 A.M.

Class AA:

• 3N) Staples-Montley defeated 2N) Barnesville 46-44 in 2OT.
• 1S) Chatfield defeated 4S) Triton 23-22.
• 1N) Kimball Area vs. 4N) Moose Lake / Willow River will be played 11/8 at 7 P.M.
• 2S) Jackson County Central vs. 3S) Central Public Schools will be played 11/8 at 7 P.M.

Semifinals are Friday, November 15 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

• Chatfield will play at 4:30 P.M. against the lowest remaining North seed.
• The other semifinal is also TBD. It will be played between the lowest remaining South seed and highest remaining North seed at 9 A.M.

Class AAA:

• 1N) Fergus Falls vs. 4N) Albany will be played 11/8 at 6 P.M.
• 2N) Pequot Lakes vs. 3N) Annandale will be played 11/9 at 7 P.M.
• 1S) Stewartville vs. 4S) Holy Family Catholic will be played 11/9 at 12 P.M.
• 2S) Dassel-Cokato vs. 3S) Fairmont will be played 11/9 at 3 P.M.

Semifinals are Saturday, November 16 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

• Low seed south vs. High seed north will be at 2 P.M.
• Low seed North vs. High seed south will be at 4:30 P.M.
