ULEN, Minn. (KVRR) — West Central AG Services is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a proposal with C-H-S worth $225 million.

The vote comes after over a year of deliberations with both companies discussing a possible merger.

Arthur Companies of Arthur, North Dakota also made a bid for West Central and held informational meetings last week to argue its case.

West Central is a northwestern Minnesota cooperative while C-H-S is a global agribusiness co-op.

“We’ve spent a lot of time on this thing, it didn’t just happen overnight. Our board unanimously supports this, the CHS board unanimously supports it and we think it’s the right thing for the future five, ten, fifteen years out,” said Jesse Mccollum, CEO of West Central AG Services.

We might not know the results of the vote until Friday.

If it passes, the merger will be complete within 30 days.
