Cass County Sheriff’s Office Gets A Great Deal on a Mobile Command Post

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Cass County Sheriff’s Office is getting a new Mobile Command Post.
It’s actually a 1993 model with only 28,000 miles on it.
The county bought it from Casselton Fire Department for $40,000.
Sheriff Jesse Jahner says buying a new one would cost anywhere from $200,000 to $500,000.
He says this way, the county is saving the taxpayers money and providing his department with a much needed tool to respond to crime scenes or critical incidents.
Jahner says with 1,768 square miles and 29 cities to cover in the county, sending staff back to get equipment needed at a crime scene can cause long response times and result in public safety issues.
Casselton Fire Department is looking to purchase a new command post vehicle.
