Teen with life-threatening injuries after crash near Wadena

WADENA, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — A 17-year-old girl has life-threatening injuries at Sanford Medical Center after a two-vehicle crash, west of Wadena.

The State Patrol says the girl was a passenger in a car driven by a 16-year-old girl.

The car collided with an SUV on State Highway 29 shortly before 8 a.m.

The girl hospitalized in Fargo is identified as Larissa Hayakawa.

The patrol report says she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The 44-year-old and 12-year-old in the SUV had non-life threatening injuries.

The highway was slippery with snow and ice.
